Selected Highlights from this Issue:
- The Philadelphia Orchestra received the Bicentennial Year Arts Award.
- Dr. George C. Pimentel, who developed the chemical laser, was the 21st recipient of the Priestly Award.
- Rick Smolan (class of 1972) described his travels in Bologna, Italy, in "The Diary of a "Mad" Dickinsonian."
- The Alumnus included a report titled "13 Big Issues for Higher Education," which was produced by the non-profit Editorial Projects for Education.
- The Department of Music, in conjunction with the College's 200th Anniversary celebration, announced a contest to select a new college song.
