  • Gilbert Malcolm (class of 1915) was appointed Vice-President of Dickinson College. 
  • Renovations to lecture rooms and laboratories in the Tome Scientific Building were completed. 
  • Edwin W. Thompkins (class of 1925) was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. 
  • George S. Williams (class of 1900) was appointed to the Senate Civil Service Committee.
  • The College established a new Russian Studies program. 
  • The Carlisle Gazette published a poem about President Charles Nisbet's health in March 1786.
