LGBT-012 documents
Collection Inventory:
Date Range:

This collection was donated anonymously by an individual associated with the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) of the Spirit in Harrisburg, PA.  The collection is composed primarily of newspapers clippings that document issues such as same–sex marriage, the relationship between local churches and LGBTQ individuals, LGBTQ activism, and discrimination against LGBTQ individuals.  One portion of the clippings deals with a debate that took place in 1991 regarding a Lancaster City ordinance banning discrimination against LGBT individuals.  The majority of the clippings are from Central PA newspapers published between 1991 and 2009.  This collection also contains some documentation regarding the 1996 Central PA Pride Festival and a program from a Celebration of Community event held at the MCC Church on March 21, 2004.

This collection is part of the LGBT Center of Central PA History Project. To learn more about this project and to view all of the collections in this project, please see this page.
