Dickinson Red Alert is implemented utilizing the National Notification Network (3N) to notify all students in case of a campus emergency.  History professor David D. Commins is inaugurated as the first incumbent of The Benjamin Rush Distinguished Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences.  Political artist Yolanda Lopez visits Dickinson's campus.  A Dickinsonian calls for squirrel genocide after news of a vermin in New Jersey that caused a car to explode after falling into its engine while on fire from a power line overhead.
