Annual Oratorical Contest of the Freshman Class 1897

This contest was held on Tuesday, May 4, 1897. Eight members of the Freshman class gave speeches in a competition for the Cole Prize (a gold medal to the first place winner) and the Walkley Prize ($15 to the second place winner).
