Bicentennial Forum on "The Presidential Campaign"

On October 20th, Dickinson hosted, as part of the Bicentennial Forum , a lecture entitled "The Presidential Campaign." The lecture and debate discussed negative campaigning and the candidates' rights to privacy. The talk was held in the Rubendall Recital Hall in Weiss. L. Patrick Devlin presented his lecture "Negative Campaigning and the Race for the Presidency" which was the followed by a debate between Terry Eastland, the former director of the United States Office of Public Affairs, and James Savage, who was at the time the Miami Herald Political Investigations Editor, that was called "The Candidates' Right to Privacy vs. the Public's Right to Know." The event was sponsored by both the Policy and Management Studies Program, the Political Science Department, and the Student Senate.
