The handwritten note on the reverse side reads: "2nd from left Clarence [Figgitt?]. CGB [Charles Gilbert Beetem, Class of 1904] stands next to a General - Photo taken during an Encampment of Pennsylvania National Guard troops on the Battlefield of Gettysburg, year about 1925. (I was then a rather hard-boiled guy)"
