Russia As It Is

Count Adam Gurowski (1805-1866) was a Polish aristocrat who lost his estates and was exiled at various times in his life for opposing the Russian occupation of partitioned Poland. He ultimately immigrated to the United States where he played an influential role in informing American opinion of Russia.
