Dedication of Asbell Center for Jewish Life

Sun., Apr. 27, 2003

On Sunday, April 27, 2003, the Milton B. Asbell Center for Jewish Life was dedicated.  The building, formerly the Sellers House, was situated at 262 West High Street and featured two kosher kitchens, an apartment for a visiting Judaic scholar, offices, worship space, lounges, and a dining room that doubled as a classroom.  New stained-glass windows depicting aspects of Jewish faith were designed by Dickinson College Professor Emeritus Dennis Akin.  The ceremony included a procession of the Torahs from Old West to the new Torah Ark, designed by Gary Rosenthal, in the Asbell Center.
