1961 Spring Glee Club Concert

The Men's Glee Club, directed by Harry B. Danner, presented their annual spring concert at 8:15pm in Bosler Hall. For the first part of their program the men sang Bach-Wilson's "Glory to God"; Palestrina's "Adoremus Te"; Purcell's "Trumpet Song", featuring Douglas Johnson in a trumpet solo; Waring's "Navy Hymn'', featuring soloist Donald Reade; and Wilhousky's "Battle Hymn of the Republic". The second part of the program contained such pieces as "Viva la Mour", "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair", Pucell's "Passing By", Phillips' "Josephine, Please No Lean on the Bell", Spaeth's "I Had a Dream", Luboff's "Shenandoah", and Kern's "Show Boat Medley". After the second intermission, the show moved outside to the front of Old West for the singing of college songs, as well as some "old favorites".
