212th Opening Convocation

The 212th Opening Convocation ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 28th, 1984 in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. The ceremony began with the academic procession, which was followed by the introduction of new faculty members, academic professionals, and administrative staff. The Phi Beta Kappa inductees were then recognized, scholarship recipients were congratulated, and the sophister awards were presented. President Banks gave his presidential address entitled "A Place to Come To." Faculty promotions and honor prizes and scholarships were also announced. Several individuals were recognized for excellence in special fields.
