213th Opening Convocation
Tue., Aug. 27, 1985
The 213th opening convocation ceremony was held in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on Tuesday, August 27th, 1985 at 7:30. After the academic procession, the Dean of the college introduced the new faculty members, academic professionals, and administrative staff. Scholarship recipients were recognized and the sophister awards were presented. President Banks spoke on the topic of "New Lamps for Old." Faculty promotions, new appointments, college sophisters, and honor prizes and scholarships were all announced. A number of people were recognized for excellence in special fields.
