217th Opening Convocation

This opening convocation ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 29th, 1989 at 7:30 pm in the Kline Life/Sports Learning Center. After the academic procession, the matriculation of new students was announced by the Dean of Admissions. the Dean of the College gave Introductions and Honors, and the presentation of new faculty, academic professionals, administrators, and student honors. President Fritschler then performed the conferring of the honorary degree. Faculty promotions, new appointments, college sophisters, and honor prizes and scholarships were also announced. Several people were recognized for excellence in special fields. Dana Scholars and students on the Dean's List were also announced.
