Brenda Smith Barrett Performs

The Music Department presented "Aspects of Love", a faculty recital by mezzo-soprano Brenda Smith Barrett, accompanied by pianist Kee Mann Chang, at 8:15pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Pieces performed included Georg Friedrich Handel's "O didst thou know" and "As when the Dove laments"; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Als Luise die Briefe", "Trennungslied", and "Die Verschweigung"; Johannes Brahms' "O Kühler Wald", "Die Mainacht", and "Von ewiger Liebe"; James Ovalle's "Vai, Azulao"; Fernando Obradors' "Del cabello más sutil"; Joaquin Rodrigo's "De los álamos vengo, madre"; Henri Duparc's "Chanson Triste"; Francis Poulenc's "Fleurs"; Gabriel Fauré's "Notre Amour"; Roger Quilter's "Love's Philosophy"; John Duke's "I carry your Heart"; Clive Carey's "Love on my HEart"; and Frank Bridge's "Love went A-Riding".
