Dickinson Collegium Presents "Renaissance Madrigals & Chansons"

The Dickinson Collegium presented a concert of "Renaissance Madrigals & Chansons" at 8:00pm in Memorial Hall.  The ensemble performed Clément Janequin's "A ce joly moys de May" and "Le Chant des Oyseaulx"; John Dowland's "The Lowest Trees Have Tops" and "It was a Time"; Josquin des Prez's "El Grillo"; Michael East's "O Metaphysical Tobacco"; Thomas Weelkes' "Come, Sirrah Jack, Ho!", "Hark, all ye lovely saints above", and "Four arms, two necks, one wreathing"; the anonymous 13th century piece "Sumer is icumen in, sing cuccu"; Jacques Arcadelt's "Il bianco e dolce cigno"; John Wilbye's "Lady your words do spite me"; Thomas Morley's "O Grief ev'n on the bud" and "Arise, awake!"; John Dunstaple's "Quam pulchra es"; and Claudio Monteverdi's "Si ch'io vorrei morire".
