Music by Women Composers from Hildegard to Hensel

The Music Department presented "Music by Women Composers from Hildegard to Hensel," a concert by soprano Rosa Lamoreaux, piano and harpsichord player Laura Ward, and early bowed strings player Tina Chancey, at 8:15pm in Memorial Hall. The trio performed Hildegard von Bingen's "Sequence: O Ignis Spiritis"; La Comtessa de Dia's "A chantar"; Francesca Caccini's "Maria, dolce Maria" and "Aria of the shepherd"; Barbara Strozzi's "L'Astratto"; Clara Schumann's "Warum willst du and're fragen" and "Liebst du um Schönheit"; Fanny Hensel's "Sehnsucht" and "Von dir, mein Lieb"; Amy Beach's "O mistress mine", "O, were my love yon lilac fair", and "The year's at the spring"; and Lori Laitman's "The metropolitan tower", "The hour", "A winter night", and "Old tunes".
