The Performer's Committee for Twentieth-Century Music

The Performer's Committee for Twentieth-Century Music gave a concert at 10am in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. Entitled "A Concert of Twentieth-Century Vocal and Instrumental Music", the show began with Henry Cowell's "Tiger", "Floating", "The Tides of Manaunaun", and "Advertisement"; Anton Webern's "Der Tag ist Vergangen", "Die Geheimnisvolle Flote", "Schien Mir's, als ich Sah Die Sonne", and "Gleich und Gleich"; Arnold Schoenberg's "Fantasy for violin with piano accompaniment", and Mario Davidovsky's "Synchronisms No. 6 for piano and electronic sounds". In the second half of the concert, the summer school students played John Cage's "Roof of an Unfocus", "The Wonderful Widow of Eighteen Springs", and "Aria"; and Charles Ives' "Autumn", "In the Barn", and "The Revival". The concert was supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
