- Professor Milton E. Flower (class of 1931) discussed Charles Nisbet's tenure as Dickinson's first President.
- The Alumnus included a report titled "The Plight of the Humanities," which was produced by the non-profit Editorial Projects for Education. Professor George Allen responded to this report in a separate article, "Education For Liberty."
- Majorie Daschke (class of 1969) was the second recipient of the Mary Dickinson Culb's Scholarship Grant.
- The Washington Redskins held their summer training camp at Dickinson for the third year in a row.
