Letter from Annie Besant to Clara Bayliss

Annie Besant reassures Clara Bayliss that one does not have to leave their Church when they join the Theosophical Society. However, Besant also explains that “as the Theosophical teachings flow into the life and thought, they tend to widen the thought, and gradually lead the student to see that many esoteric dogmas are travesties of truth.”
