Buchanan discusses Washington's prospects of getting a clerkship as well as the possibility of appointments for Carlton B. Cotter, W. Lightner, and W. [Cantisce?]."No man better deserves a good clerkship, and there are few men who would better perform the duties," as Buchanan explains to Washington.
