"Our Nation's Glory," by Henry C. Speake

Henry Clay Speake prepared this oration, entitled “Our Nation's Glory," for the Junior Prize (Grigg Prize) contest held June 21, 1862. A committee selected the top two orations, based on "the combined merits of Declamation and Composition," and awarded those two students with gold and silver medals for first and second place, respectively.
