  • Professor Warren J. Gates discussed the case of Frick vs. Stevens, in which Helen C. Frick attempted to prevent Sylvester K. Stevens from distributing his book Pennsylvania: Birthplace of a Nation. The proceedings, which involved attorneys who were Dickinson alumni, took place in the Cumberland County Courthouse in Carlisle.
  • Biddle Field was reconditioned. The improvements included a new turtleback gridiron and an all-weather running track.
  • Professor Benjamin D. James (class of 1934) returned to teaching full-time after 20 years as a teacher-administrator.
  • Harry Zug (class of 1934) assumed the position of Chairman of the Dickinson Fund, which set a goal of $265,000 for annual giving in 1968.
  • Over 100 Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity members attended a dinner held to honor Paul "Pappy" Hodge's fifty years of service to the Phi Ep chapter house at Dickinson.

  • Walter E. Beach (class of 1956) donated a bust of Supreme Court Justice Roger Brooke Taney (class of 1795) to the College during the Law Day ceremony.
  • The dedication ceremony for the new Malcolm Hall honored the memory of the late President Gilbert Malcolm (class of 1915).
  • Dr. George W. Beadle, a biologist, became the 16th recipient of the Priestley Award.
  • Retired diplomat John P. Davies Jr. addressed the annual scholarship dinner and defended the secret subsides that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) paid to student groups, professors, and research organizations.
  • Lt. Col. Richard Kim (class of 1952) received the Legion of Merit medal in recognition of his actions in South Vietnam.
  • Lt. Elizabeth G. Wylie (class of 1961) the first WAVE (United States Naval Reserve (Women's Reserve)) assigned to Vietnam.

  • Professor Harry F. Booth reviewed Professor Allan Ludwig's new book, Grave Images: New England Stonecarving and its Symbols, 1650-1815.
  • Mary Gratiot (class of 1966) described her experience teaching school in Adi Ugri, Eritrea.
  • The Dickinson College-Carlisle Community Orchestra was fully instrumented and made their first appearance of the season in the Holland Union theater.
