- Bill Sloan, minority adviser at Dickinson, was applauded for his excellent work with 69 African American students.
- Professor Philip N. Lockhart reviewed Dr. Charles Sellers' new book Dickinson College: A History.
- The College Church Committee rebuilt a house in a low-income district in conjunction with the Opportunity Homes service organization.
- Harriet Line Thompson (class of 1945), a world-renowned pianist, returned to campus and preformed a solo piano recital.
