  • Darius Milhaud, one of the world's best composers, was commissioned to compose a choral work for the Bicentennial.

  • Charles Eldridge (class of 1971) was appointed as Audio, Visual and Staging Director of Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium.
  • Dave Watkins, head basketball and tennis coach, was appointed to the newly-established position of Assistant Athletic Director.
