President Edel dedicates the cornerstone for the women's dormitory. Phi Delta Theta receives the Interfraternity Cup during Interfraternity Weekend. The Student Senate censures a number of men for participating in a raid of Gibbs House on October 31. Famous British novelist, Elizabeth Bowen will speak at the College. Kappa Sigma wins the contest for best display during Homecoming. The Dickinson Mermaid is returned to President Edel and the College. Construction of the new women's dormitory is underway. Student Senate stops delegation on the election of officers until the following academic year, focusing instead on the budget and changes to the freshman rules. Religious leader and author Henry Emerson Fosdick is announced as the commencement speaker. The first all-student art exhibit is set to open. Skull and Key taps nine men for the 1948-1949 school year. The thief who ransacked the women's dormitory in East College was captured in Maryland.
