Dickinsonian, March 1889
President-elect Reed is received at Dickinson by a congregation of students, a band, and much fanfare. Religious fervor among the students is at a high after Bishop Foss’ lecture in the previous month. The Belles Lettres Society holds its 103rd annual banquet. The College is granted secretaryship of the Inter-Collegiate Athletic Association. Male and female students exhibit their gymnastic skills for the townspeople of Carlisle.
