Dickinson College President James McCauley writes Daniel Gilman, President of Johns Hopkins University, in order to recommend S. Homer Dosh, a senior at Dickinson. Dosh is an excellent student and is a "young man of excellent character – is a professing Christian, and has, during his stay with us, been correct in all his ways," as McCauley explains.
