1956 Founders' Day Concert

The College Choir, along with the College-Community Orchestra and guest artist Mariquita Moll, performed for the annual Founders' Day Concert at 8:15pm in Bosler Hall. The same performance was given the following day at 8:30pm at the Forum Building in Harrisburg. The program opened with the orchestra playing Mozart's "Symphony No. 40". The choir then sang Roberton's "All in the April Evening", Brahams' "How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place", Bryan's arrangement of "Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley", and Dett's "Listen to the Lambs". For the next segment of the show, Moll sang Toselli's "Tu Lo Sai", Handel's "Bel Piacere", Duparc's "La Vie Anterieure", and Bizet's "Chanson d'Avril". The second half of the show began with the orchestra playing Wagner's "March of the Meistersingers" and Pierne's "March of the Little Tin Soldiers". Moll then took the stage again, singing Dougherty's "Loveliest of Trees", Naginski's "Night Song at Amalfi", Carpenter's "Serenade", and Rachmaninoff's "Floods of Spring". The College Choir concluded the show with DiLassus' "Echo Song", Elgar's "As Torrents in Summer", Cain's "The Night had a Thousand Eyes", Shaw's arrangement of "Set Down Servant", Porter's "Blow, Gabriel, Blow", and Rogers-Hammerstein's "Oklahoma".
