1997 Dickinson Collegium Christmas Concert

The Music Department presented a Christmas concert by the Dickinson Collegium in Memorial Hall at 8:00pm on Fri., Dec. 5 and at 4:00pm on Sun., Dec. 7.  The Collegium performed the 16th century Spanish tune "E la don don"; Antonio de Salazar's "Tarara"; the 18th century Colombian tune "Esa noche"; the traditional English carols "Sweet was the song", "Gloucester wassail", "Make we joy", and "Coventry Carol"; Guillaume Dufar's "Ce jour de l'an"; Smert's "Nowell: Dieu vous garde; Thomas Tallis' "O nata lux"; Cipriano de Rore's "Hodie Christus natus est"; Michael Praetorius' "Ballet des Amazons-Courante-Galliarde", "Es ist ein Rose", "In dulci jubilo", and "Psallite"; the American sacred harp and play party tunes "Babylon is fallen", "Star in the east", and "Dame get up and bake your pies"; and the traditional carols "Angels we have heard on high", "O come, Emmanuel", "What child is this?", and "Dona Nobis Pacem".
