208th Opening Convocation
Tue., Sep. 2, 1980
Following the academic procession, new faculty, librarians, physical education instructors, and administration staff were all introduced. The Phi Beta Kappa inductees were mentioned, and scholarship recipients were recognized. Sophister awards were presented. President Banks gave an address on the "Conservation of Intelligence." Faculty promotions and honor prizes and scholarships were announced. Several people were recognized for excellence in special fields.
