Baltimore Consort Performs "La Rocque 'n' Roll: Popular Music of Renaissance France"

The Music Department hosted "La Rocque 'n' Roll: Popular Music of Renaissance France," a concert by the Baltimore Consort, at 8:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall. The Consort performed the traditional piece "J'ai vû le loup"; Adrian Le Roy's "Mes pas semez", "J'ay le rebours", "Has tu point veu", "Passemeze", and "Une m'avoit promis"; Pierre Phalese's "Gaillarde d'escosse"; Jehan Chardavoine's "Mignonne allons voir si la rose" and "Une jeune fillette"; Pierre Attaingnant's "Prelude"; Claudin de Sermisy's "Tant que vivray"; Giovanni Bassano's "Ung gay bergère" and "Frais et gaillard"; Jehan Planson's "Ma bergère, ma lumière" and "Une nimphe jolie"; Robert Ballard's "Branles de village"; Pierre Certon's "O Madame pers-je mon tems"; Michael Praetorius' "Volte" and "Branle double"; Eustache du Caurroy's "Une jeune fillette"; and Jacques Mangeant's "Jean de Nivelle".
