Dickinson Collegium Presents "Music for Carnival, Lent, & Primavera"

The Music Department presented "Music for Carnival, Lent, & Primavera," a concert by the Dickinson Collegium, at 4:00pm in Memorial Hall.  The ensemble performed Josquin des Prez's "El grillo" and "Absalon, fili mi," Heinrich Isaac's "Ne più bella di queste," Juan del Encina's "Hoy comamos y bebamos," the anonymous early 16th century Florentine pieces "Spirti sian sempre gaudenti" and "Signor per la tua fe," Thomas Weelkes' "When David  Heard," the anonymous 17th century north Italian pieces "Ciaconna di Paradiso e dell' Inferno" and "Passacaglia della Vita," Tomas Luis de Victoria's "O vos omnes," Morten Lauridsen's "O nata lux," the anonymous late 15th century Florentine piece "Ben venga Maggio," Claudio Monteverdi's "O primavera gioventù del'anno," and Clément Janequin's "A ce joly moys de may."
