Mon., May 17, 1954
The Men's Glee Club presented their Spring Music Festival, featuring a program of fourteen songs, at 8:30pm. The concert was scheduled to take place in Bosler Hall, or, weather permitting, Rush Campus. They began their show with Rogers and Hammerstein's "It's a Grand Night for Singing" from the film State Fair. The first half continued with Kern and Hammerstein's "Ol' Man River", Bartholomew's arrangement of "The Battle of Jericho", and Hathaway's "Mosquitoes". The men concluded the first part of their show with a patriotic medley featuring Raye and Jacobs' "This is my Country", DeLange and Stept's "This is Worth Fighting for", and Howe and Steffe's "Battle Hymn of the Republic". The second half included Rogers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma" and "If I Loved You", Gershwin's "Summertime" and "I Got Plenty O' Nuttin'", Bartholomew's arrangement of the sea chantey "What Shall We do with a Drunken Sailor?", Porter's "So in Love" and Roger and Hammerstein's "There is Nothing Like a Dame".
