Gwendolyn Smyth and Megan Flood Senior Vocal Recitals

The Music Department presented a senior recital by mezzo-soprano Gwendolyn Smyth and soprano Megan Flood, accompanied by pianists Brenda Smith Barrett and David Glasgow and flutist Jennifer Meehan, at 2:30pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Smyth and Flood performed Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's "On Wings of Song"; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Oiseaux si tous" and "Ridente la calma"; Carl Bohm's "Still wie die Nacht"; Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria"; Giovanni Buonicini's "Per la Gloria"; Richard Strauss' "Morgen!"; Gabriel Fauré's "Pie Jesu"; Claude Bolling's "Irlandaise"; Aaron Copland's "I've heard an organ talk sometimes", "Heart, we will forget him", "The world feels dusty", and "Why do they shut me out of Heaven?"; Vincent Persichetti's "Out of the Morning" and "I'm Nobody"; Stephen Foster's "Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair"; Wallace de Pue's "Lullaby"; Benjamin Britten's "Sweet Polly Oliver"; Johannes Brahms' "O Calm of Night"; and Karl Maria von Weber's "Chorus of the Bridesmaids".
