Junior Vocal Recital

The Music Department presented a junior recital by mezzo-soprano Alison Hill, accompanied by pianist Brenda Smith and featuring soprano Rosalind Staib, at 6:30pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  Hill performed Henry Purcell's "Turn then thine eyes"; Pierre Alex. Monsigny's "Il regardait mon bouquet"; Ambroise Thomas' "Me voici dans son boudoir"; Franz Schubert's "Ständchen"; Christoph Willibald Gluck's "O del mio dolce ardor"; Stefano Donaudy's "O del mio amato ben"; Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Linden Lea"; Arthur Sullivan's "Orpheus with his Lute"; Roger Quilter's "Take, o take those lips away"; Vincent Youmans' "Without a Song"; Ernest Charles' "When I have sung my songs to you"; and a number of selections from musical theater, including "So In Love" from Kiss Me Kate, "Heaven Help My Heart" and "I Know Him So Well" from Chess, "Little Bird, Little Bird" from Man of La Mancha, "Where Are the Simple Joys of Maidenhood?" from Camelot, "Waitin' for My Dearie" from Brigadoon, "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd, and "Everything's Comin' Up Roses" from Gypsy.
