The Music Department presented its second Noonday Concert of the 1989-1990 academic year in Rubendall Recital Hall. Students and faculty performed William Bolcom's "Song of Black Max", Irving Fine's "The Frog and the Snake", Jean Baptiste Breval's "Allegro from the Sonata in C Major", Georg Friedrich Handel's "Honour and Arms", Robert Schumann's "The Two Grenadiers", David Ashley White's "Six Miniatures for Three Players", Carlisle Floyd's "Ain't It a Pretty Night", Robert A. Boyd's arrangement of the traditional American folk hymn "Wondrous Love", Virgil Thomson's arrangement of the American southern hymn "My Shepherd Will Supply My Need", George Lynn's paraphrase of the American folk song "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair", and Gregg Smith's arrangement of the traditional American chantey "Shenandoah".
