"The Songs of Harold Arlen" Opens

The Friends of the Library presented a concert in the evening at Rubendall Recital Hall titled "The Songs of Harold Arlen."  The pieces performed included Ira Gershwin and E.Y. Harburg's "Let's Take a Walk Around the Block"; Johnny Mercer's "My Shining Hour", "Out of This World", "Hit the Road to Dreamland", "Come Rain or Come Shine", "A Woman's Prerogative", and "Let's Take the Long Way Home"; Ted Koehler's "Get Happy", "Stormy Weather", "As Long As I Live", "Ill Wind", and "Let's Fall in Love"; E.Y. Harburg's "Fancy Meeting You", "Last Night When We Were Young", "Paris is a Lonely Town", "Push De Button", and "Over the Rainbow"; Ira Gershwin's "The Man That Got Away"; Billy Rose and E.Y. Harburg's "It's Only a Paper Moon"; and Truman Capote's "Sleepin' Bee".  The concert was performed on February 3 and 4.
