Tensions rise between Dickinson fraternity members and the Carlisle Police Department, with the Sentinel defending Dickinson's students.  Criticism is levied on students for their behavior during chapel when a visitor is present.  The co-eds in the school are criticized for hazing other students.  Dickinson loses to Swarthmore 6-22 in football.  Mud-slinging between Dickinson and Lafayette continues, and Lehigh also begins criticizing Dickinson's football team.

The Dickinsonian criticizes students for poor behavior during chapel exercises, and chastises the freshman class for not acting as a better "police force" to keep unwanted visitors off campus, as was custom at this time.  Emory Hall falls into disuse and ruin, prompting requests for some purpose to be made for the facility.  Issues of disrespect arise between Dickinson's students and fraternity members and the greater Carlisle police force.  The Sophomore class refuses to participate in a cane rush with the Freshmen, a pleasing sign to the Dickinsonian about

Dickinsonian, January 28, 1899

The New York Association of the Alumni holds a dinner. A few sophomore class members crashed the Freshmen Banquet and abducted a freshman, resulting in a chase around the streets of Carlisle and the involvement of the Carlisle Police. Dr. Prince has succeeded in obtaining a copy of the Magna Charta. A reader responds to the Dickinsonian's comments about the General Alumni Association from a previous issue. A student at Dickinson dies of pneumonia.

Dickinsonian, October 24, 1940

The reorganization of the Harman Literary Society is decided by a group of seven female students interested in the furthering of a literary and discussion group. The Dickinson Dramatic Club selects "Charley's Aunt" for their first production of the academic year and will be shown December sixth. The Wilkie Club will be holding a debate against the College Democrats regarding the 1940 presidential race. Two faculty members and three seniors are elected to the Lambda Sigma Phi honorary scientific fraternity.
