While he does "not possess any portraits of Madame Blavatsky taken during her youth," Sinnett suggests that Annie Besant, Bertram Keightley, and Mrs. Cooper-Oakley are "the people most likely to have such a portrait."

The students propose an Exemption system as an alternative solution. This post also includes a clipping from the November 1, 1895 edition of the Carlisle Sentinel that mentions the proposal for the honor system.
