211th Opening Convocation
Tue., Aug. 30, 1983
This year's ceremony commemorated not only opening convocation, but also the 200th anniversary of the chartering of the college. After the academic procession, President Banks gave an address entitled "Living on Leftovers." New faculty, academic professionals, and administrative staff were introduced. Scholarship recipients were introduced, and the sophister awards were presented. Faculty promotions and honor prizes and scholarships were announced.
