216th Opening Convocation

This opening convocation ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 30, 1988 at 7:30 pm in the Kline Life/Sports Learning Center. Following the procession and welcome, the Director of Admission announced the matriculation of new students. After that came remarks from the Deans and the introduction of new faculty and administrative staff and the announcement of student honors. the Distinguished Alumni Award was presented and President Fritschler awarded an honorary degree. Faculty promotions, new appointments, college sophisters, and honor prizes and scholarships were announced. A number of individuals were recognized for excellence in special fields.
