1912 Student Song Recital

Students of Chas A. Goodyear presented their song recital at 8:00pm in Mentzer Hall. The pupils performed twenty-five songs and were accompanied by Kellie McMillan on the piano. The first half of the program featured twelve songs: Nevin's "Chrysoar", Homer's "Dearest", Metcalf's "This Night has a Thousand Eyes", Faure's "Crucifix", Bohm's "My All", Cowen's "Border Ballad", DeKoven's "A Winter Lullaby", Homer's "Banjo Song", Butterfield's "Father, Lead Me by the Hand", Speaks' "To You", Verdi's "Oh Cruel Fortune", and Galloway's "The Gypsy Trail". In the second half of the program, the students sang Saint-Saens' "My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice", Leoncavallo's "Put on Your Smock", Schira's "I Dreamt", Wagner's "Oh Thou Sublime, Sweet Evening Star", Elliott's "My Lady Fair", Macy's "Night of Joy", Pinsutti's "Bedouin Love Song", Richardson's "Mary", Trotere's "Toreador, Hola!", Reichardt's "In the Time of Roses", Tosti's "Good-bye", Buck's "Where did You Come from Baby Dear?", and Costa's "With Sheathed Swords".
