1933 Commencement Concert

The Combined Glee Clubs performed a program of seventeen songs for the 1933 commencement concert at 8:00pm in Bosler Hall. The Men's Glee Club opened the show with Coleridge-Taylor's "Viking Song" and Reichardt's "In the Time of Roses". Then the Women's Glee Club sang Wilson's "Carmena". The Men's Octet performed the next two pieces: Tosti's "Good-bye" and Bartholomew's "The Battle of Jericho". A trombone duet then played Donizetti's "Sextet from Lucia". The Women's Glee Club returned to the stage to sing Spross' "The Sunset Hour" and Forsyth's "Sun-Loving Swallow". The combined clubs concluded the first half of the show with Christiansen's "Beautiful Savior". The Men's Glee Club opened the second act with Bullard's "Hunting Song" from King Arthur and Parks' "Pale in the Amber West". The Women's Glee Club returned, singing Woodman's "Ashes of Roses" and Wood's "A Brown Bird Singing". Next, the Men's Quartet sang Brahms' "Wiegenlied" and Protheroe's "De Sandman". Pianist Isabella McMaster provided a break from the singing, playing Gliere's "Prelude". Then the Women's Sextet took to the stage to sing Bohm's "Still as the Night". The show ended with the combined clubs singing Federlein's "Torch Dance".
