1957 Christmas Choral Concert

The College Choir and Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Lloyd Utan, performed at 8:00pm in Bosler Hall for the annual Christmas concert. The choir opened the show, singing Johann Sebastian Bach's "For Us a Child is Born (Uns ist ein Kind geboren)". The Chamber Singers then sang Wallingford Riegger's arrangement of "Shepherds! Shake Off Your Drowsy Sleep", Lois Myers Emig's "Jesus Came to Earth", Roger Hannahs' "Alleluia", Leo Tellup's "Calypso Carol", Francis Snow's "Sleep, Holy Babe", Edmund Pendleton's "Brother John's Noel", and Ray Charles' arrangement of "One Horse Open Sleigh (Jingle Bells)". The show concluded with Peter Mennin's "The Christmas Story", a cantata for singers and musicians.
