Choir and Orchestra Present "Music of Russia"

The College Choir and the College-Community Orchestra presented Music of Russia for their spring concert, which was held in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium at 3:00pm. They were joined by pianist Pong-Hi Park and the Marcia Dale Ballet. The orchestra opened the concert with P. I. Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" suite. Then the groups performed six Russian folk songs arranged by Truman Bullard: "Song of the Evening", "Song of the Fence Weavers", "The Lament of the Gray Duck", "The Unhappy Bride", "The Young Lover" and "The Maid in the Meadow". The first half of the program concluded with the "Coronation Scene" from Modest Mussorgsky's "Boris Godounov". After the intermission the orchestra played Sergei Rachmanioff's "Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra".
