Noonday Concert

The Music Department presented the sixth Noonday Concert of the 1974-1975 academic year in Memorial Hall. The concert presented five centuries of humor in music and included such pieces as Modeste Mussorgsky's "The Ballet of the Chickens in their Shells" from Pictures at an Exhibition, Adriano Banchieri's "Capriciata a tre voci", Michele Pesenti's "Dal lecto me levava", Johann Sebastian Bach's "Ei wie schmeckt der Coffee susse", Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "A Musical Joke", Mozart's "Madamina, il catalogo e questo", Peter Schickele's "Monochrome for eight flutes", and three songs by Gilbert and Sullivan: "None shall part us from each other", "When Frederick was a little lad", and "For he is an Englishman".
