Bicentennial Concert

The Music Department presented a Bicentennial Concert at 3:00pm in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. Featuring the College Choir and the College-Community Orchestra, the program included Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "An Outdoor Overture", Benjamin Carr's "Ave Maria", Alan Hovanhess' "Psalm and Fugue for String Orchestra", Charles Ives' "The Unanswered Question", Henry Cowell's "Hymn and Fuguing Tune #3", James Hewitt's "The Battle of Trenton", and John Philip Sousa's "The Stars and Stripes Forever". Additionally, the groups performed works arranged by guest composer Ulysses Kay: "What's in a Name?", "The Flowers in the Valley", "How Stands the Glass Around?", and "Choral Triptych".
