Brenda Smith Performs

The Music Department presented a faculty recital by mezzo-soprano Brenda Smith, accompanied by pianist Robert McCoy, at 8:15pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall. The pieces performed included Francis Pilkington's "Underneath a Cypress Tree"; John Dowland's "Tell Me, True Love"; Thomas Morley's "It Was a Lover and His Lass"; Clara Wieck Schumann's "Liebst Du um Schönheit" and "Ich stan in dunklen Träumen"; Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel's "Schwanenlied", "Du bist die Ruh", and "Gondellied"; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Non so piu"; Ernest Chausson's "Le Charme" and "Le Colibri"; Gabriel Faure's "Mai", "Au bord de L'eau", and "Chanson d'Amour"; and Richard Hundley's "The Astronomers", "Isaac Greentree", "Come Ready and See Me", and "Postcard from Spain".
