Junior Vocal Recital

The Music Department presented a junior recital by mezzo-soprano Louise Nelson, featuring mezzo-soprano Joanne aley and soprano Linda Shippey and accompanied by pianist J. Mark Stambaugh and guitarist David Hurley, at 4:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  The program consisted of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's "Venetianisches Gondellied" and "Suleika", Ludwig van Beethoven's "Andenken", Aaron Copland's "The Little Horses" and "Long Time Ago", Benjamin Britten's arrangements of the traditional Irish melodies "How Sweet the Answer" and "The Last Rose of Summer", Georg Friedrich Handel's "Verdi Prati", Jacques Offenbach's "Belle Nuit", Cesar Franck's "Panis Angelicus", and the Indigo Girls' "Love's Discovery" and "Closer to Fine".
