Senior Vocal Recital

The Music Department presented a senior recital from vocalist Todd Matha, accompanied by pianist Truman Bullard, at 3:00pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Matha performed the English folk song "Have you seen but a white lily grow?"; John Dowland's "Flow not so fast, ye fountaines", "Come again, sweet love", and "Now, O now I needs must part"; Philip Rosseter's "When Laura Smiles"; Robert Schumann's "Requiem", "Mit Myrten und Rosen", "Ihre Stimme", and "Dein Angesicht"; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Dies Bildniss ist bezaubernd schon"; Vincenzo Bellini's "Vaga luna che inargenti"; Giuseppe Verdi's "La donna è mobile"; Darius Milhaud's "La Séparation", "Chant de Déliverance", and "Gloire à Dieu"; Phyllis Tate's arrangement of the hymn "Brother James's Air"; Ralph Vaughan Williams' "The Pilgrim's Psalm"; the traditional pieces "The Call" and "In the Garden"; T.H. Burleigh's arrangement of the African-American spiritual "Were You There?"; Richard Hundley's "For Your Delight"; Theodore Chanler's "Be Very Quiet Now"; Claude-Michel Schönberg's "Bring Him Home"; Hedy West's "500 Miles"; Jimmy McHugh's "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" and "The Music Stopped"; and Evelyn Danzig's "Scarlet Ribbons".
